"There are two reasons why personal characteristics, such as appearance, may play a role in perceived trustworthiness of hedge fund managers: First, social psychology and neuroscience literature provides ample evidence that facial appearance is an important determinant of perceived trustworthiness for individuals," the researchers say.
The scientists say that while the methodology may seem outlandish, it is a valid approach.
